We tell you all the time that networking is key to a successful job search. But here’s a real example: Sacha Chua is living proof that it really does work. When she was graduating from Grad School, she knew that she wanted to work for IBM but she also knew that it would be competitive getting there. So she applied through the formal chains, blogged about her career search to get advice from others, met with people all over the globe, talked to people in lots of industries, consulted and met the team she wanted to work with at IBM. Then the interview process wasn’t stressful because she already knew the people that were interviewing her. Now she’s still happy there! See? I was right, for once. It really does work!
