13 Phrases to Avoid in Your Resume

You want your resume to grab the hiring manager’s attention, right? You don’t want to bore them. Well Rachel Zupek came up with a list of 13 overused phrases in resumes. In order to engage your hiring manager, avoid these common phrases. Here are 3:

  1. “track record of success” – Give specifics, instead. What’s an example of that success?
  2. “team player” – Everyone calls themselves that. Rephrase it.
  3. “strong communication, customer service and organizational skills” Demonstrate how those skills created results.
